Literally any violent sexual trope in books could be viewed this way. Some women do fantasize about power imbalances because they can face it and retreat from it into the safety of reality at any given moment. There’s nothing wrong with that! What we’re cool with in fiction is not what we’re cool with in reality.

Also little girls when compared to little boys will often make characters or toys fit them instead of the other way around, for instance if you have a boy Superman he’d pretend he was Superman too, but if you gave a girl Superman she might continue her original make believe story. (Also Toy Story’s Mrs. Nesbit, is a good example because he’s clearly a space ranger but isn’t used that way because she doesn’t want to)

I personally don’t understand it? Like it’s always the same opresive dynamics rarely is it critiqued or is libration shown. Like in bl genders has rigid roles and is kind of acting like it’s not 2 men and are restricted same way man women relationships are. Are there exceptions yes for sure but it’s not the rule. Idk I feel like it doesnt creat distance and when its omegaverse it’s like a worse example of it just because the pregnant character is a man doesnt make it less relatable. Like seeing an omega who doesn’t want to have kids or is horrified of pregnancy and adopts something other than getting married and being pregnant being your destiny, I feel sucked right back into the real world.
