That’s fine if you want entitled children, my sons 11 and he does chores to get pocket money to which he pays his own phone bill and then he saves the rest for fun’s!

They turn 18! They aren’t a child! If you can’t pay rent in your own place then you should be respectfully contributing to live with your parents depending on your income!

It’s disgusting to charge them rent! it’s the parents easy way of making money… out of their children! I have 7 and the last one is 22 I never charged any of them rent! They are all university graduates and in good jobs !!

Buying less pre made meals would save you some money and I don’t think it ends there. 800 ridiculous but contributing to household food and utilities, when you are working is not unreasonable

I think it’s normal as parents to expect your adult children to participate in household chores and/or groceries, but I think rent is also something I don’t agree with…

So i should just pay everything for 4 adults while 2 of them get to spend their money on whatever they want without having any responsabilities. What am i teaching then? I'll be your servant all your life, don't worry about it?heck no! We're 4 adults in this house, all neee to contribute to bills of stuff they use too, food they eat, stuff they use, we split groceries, bills in 4.

£200-300 a month to help your parents out isn’t unreasonable. Not full rent
