Veteran suicide is different. These men and women were given a hellacious job. They did it well. Shot at, blown up, in fight or flight for months, maybe years. They come HOME with PTSD, other disabilities including physical damage. Now, they’re job is gone, there mission in life is gone and they don’t have the resources many in this country believe they have. Ever stand in line at a VA line? Now, there’s an experience. To be told you need to go here, and there, and another place and that process continues. These guys weren’t in long enough for retirement. I’m the widow of a Navy vet. 23 years of service. He wouldn’t go to a military hospital for love or money. I saw my grandpa go through it. It was heartbreaking. There is so damn much that needs to be changed for the brave and strong people who were willing to stand in front of a bullet for the people here. Good people, stupid people. Didn’t matter. And they are invisible. These people desperately need hope, a new job, a new mission and help navigating the trauma they carry.

health care for everyone and nothing else. my dad was a vet. Korea vet they told him that he would not be able to walk without a cane.but dad was proud and refused the disability benefits and I never seen him use a cane.but when he needed help with blood thinner he was denied the meds,he died a couple days later trying Tylenol.

My son was in the military. Well both. My youngest went to wake up his bunkie and had took his lide. He said the military don't care. they said to my son, you're on duty tonight.
