@justtonch: Why do companies prefer hiring from the big 3 schools? This was a question I got a lot after I posted the highest earning jobs for fresh grads videos. Also saw a video from @Cody Yaps give him a follow! I wanted to give my own take. This might be the reason #fintok #fyp
Sometimes it doesnt happen a lot. Top corporations ok, but there are some companies you havent heard of pays a lot more than top corporations. They dont look for schools, they look for people they need whatever school you come from. My brother worked in aluminum assembley and supplier of it to big companies. He earns 350k+ basic a month. Btw his boss is chinese. 😉

Sad Reality. It’s preference tho there are still chances for outside of top 3 schools just a tougher ladder to climb

Not true. I’m from UP. I had a hard time getting a good job after graduating. Most of the classmates I know who got good jobs have connections.

Like what I always say instead of hating the system study hard and either get into these schools, get a masters in these schools or at least get your children these type of education.

felt this lalo na nung nasa Pinas pa ako,, I had to do more compared to my peers, they get annoyed when I come up with things better than them , some of them took credit for what I did, it is what it is, so I took myself outside the PH, and I will not let me kid go through the same.

One observation I have with Management Trainees also, is that hindi lang sila galing sa Big 3. May mga Chinese decent din most (not all) of them

Even if companies remove school names and make the assessment completely blind, Big 3 graduates may still disproportionately rank at the top.
That is because assessments usually measure current readiness, not pure innate potential. They measure who can already communicate well, solve structured problems, present confidently, and become productive faster.

Did you mean that hiring graduates from schools outside the “Big 3” is wrong just because HR tends to prefer those schools? I strongly disagree. I didn’t graduate from one of the Big 3 myself, yet some of the people who report to me did.
