I would tell them “aww thanks for asking but no thank you. I was going to ask you the same thing. You look like you were struggling a bit.” Just mirror them. UNO reverse and be unbothered. Play dumb. They throw a curve ball, hit it out of the field. This takes practice but it can be learned.
