I never understood the gel anyway! It only looks slick for all of 3 days. It's pointless and has most people's scalps white as snow and itching.

Yes ma’am!! No gel! If you cannot braid or make straight parts without gel, you just can’t braid or part at all. The skill is in the grip not gel. And your braids do not have be tight for neatness. It’s all about the grip.

Ugh miss this 😭😭 I’ve been doing my hair by myself for years but I always remember years ago getting box braids with no product added just moisture, grease and the parts were still so clean
