What?? .. Rust , Rails , Pascal and Cobol devs always get the job and are the highest paid engineers …. I disagree with that point because there are languages that will always be the backbone of some systems and you won’t ever replace that easily with someone who is everywhere

Already following this as a mid dev, this guy is more than right. With AI models nowadays you basically just have to understand system design, on a bigger scale they tend to mess stuff up, but building React UI, using react’s hooks, writing MVC backend, it kills it, yeah it messes up here and there and you need to check it, but in a lot of cases you don’t really need to understand the language to do that. Also AI code reviews are bangers.
