I have tried to drill this into my kid. But for some reason it just isn’t sticking. I’m a very caring and open minded person, so she comes to be about stuff, and we can talk easily but it’s like the stuff and advice I’m giving her just goes in one ear and out the other and this pattern keeps repeating itself with her. Idk why. It’s heartbreaking and hard to watch her go through and settle for.

Having a male centered mother who constantly had new boyfriends living with us really didn’t help when I got older and couldn’t tell if I guy liked me or just wanted to use me due to my mother falling for it again and again my whole childhood.
