The contemporaneous cultural world view when the poem was written is almost unrecognizable to our modern sensibilities. People are talking about the casting but the area was a minion trading hub with diverse minion nations meeting and doing business. They also should have totally kept the scene where the minions have to escape by chewing their way out of the stomach of the hill beast. IT'S THE CRUX OF THE FUCKING STORY!
