im pretty sure its bc theyre from wonderland. crazy people tend to seem crazy bc they know something. like in wicked wonderland the mad Hatter saw red and Chloe time travel and went crazy bc nobody believed him. Though it was his choice. Maddy only seems crazy bc she knows something. and her friends let themselves believed shes crazy or "mad" bc shes from wonderland and "Everyone's mad in wonderland" so it just registers as "maddy finally going mad" like her father

I think it’s not really about being fictional. But being also kinda part of their destiny or story. Alice in Wonderland is after all interpreted quite differently by many and even has its own conspiracies. Remember the white rabbit being able to transport to Alice’s word? It’s like a Dimensional Thingy-magi. Plus, Alice in Wonderland isn’t just a one part story. We also have the “Looking through the looking glass” where Alice goes through a mirror this time. ALSO!!! There’s more! We have “Time” depicted or referred to as an actual being by the Mad Hatter. So I think Maddie being able to hear the narrators is part of her destiny as this could be why she could be viewed as “Mad” like the Hatter who believed about many things in the most abnormal ways. Kitty, descendant of the Cheshire Cat; a being that’s known or interpreted to being able to travel dimensions, is also not surprising if she could hear the narrators to be honest.
