G4 was what made 💲💲💲BANK💲💲💲 and continues to do so. G5 was a complete and utter failure in comparison to its competitor Wild Manes (which, honestly, is kind of like an updated MLP Tales. I'm also assuming that was a factor in the switch). Not only that, but Transformers is EXPENSIVE to fund, and their other brands (Magic the Gathering, D&D, & Littlest Pet Shop) have some very upset fanbases. Of course they're gonna fall back on their cash cow (well, pony).

They could easily focus on other characters besides the main 6 as well. Id love to see a story with the next gen like with Luster Dawn where the main 6 appear as side characters.

I want new characters that aren't connected to the mane six and have as much depth. Give us new lore, give us new plotlines, give us a completely new universe to fall in love with.

What I wish they had done was kept the spirit and passion put into g4 and put it into the next two generations. As much as I loved FIM, I want something new out of the franchise!! Something refreshing that isn’t attached to g4 yet carries the same love and care as it did!

the reason is really simple: money. Everyone loves G4, they dont want to take a risk on a hard reboot after capturing lighting in a bottle, so they keep trying to remake it instead of taking a risk same reason Disney is primarily making sequels and live action remakes and under advertising the few originals theyve made in the past couple years

G4 was successful for a multitude of reasons that can’t be recreated in a decade like this. It was one of the only shows around that didnt require sadistic/slapstick humor and it was prolly the only girl-centric show where all the girls weren’t into fashion and shopping and they had more diverse personalities. Now that we already have something like that, we don’t need another one
