@urbanist.singapore: I posted this last year, and I was so moved by how many of you connected with it. So I’ve decided to make this a little tradition. Every 1 August, I’ll reshare it. Zubir Said once shared that because the melody was so short, finding the right words was the hardest part. He wanted every line to be easily understood by people of all races in Singapore. He also described Majulah Singapura as a prayer for the nation. I’ve never heard our national anthem the same way since. A special thank you to @shabirmusic for this beautiful rendition. It is, to me, one of the most moving performances of our national anthem. His voice carries such warmth, sincerity, and quiet strength. As we begin another National Day week ahead, I hope you’ll take a moment to listen, read the words, and perhaps hear them a little differently too. 🇸🇬

The key fact to our anthem is the call for prayer which the call say “Hurry to Salvation” in order of to be Bahagia, Mulia, Semangat Baru, Majulah
