I've been wondering, when haller plans to force a witness to plead the fifth (different episode) the judge says if he had knowledge about him planning on taking the 5th, he has to tell the court. Is planning to force the witness to take the 5th the same as knowing that he will.

This is something I’ve been wondering about. On TV, sometimes the client says “Well, what happens if, hypothetically, I had committed the murder?”, is that actually helpful? Because most of the time it’ll be pretty obvious it’s not hypothetical at all 😅
