I made the decision last December that, starting from 2026, I was going to document every amount of money that comes into my business, as well as my monthly expenses, so I could properly track my finances. I started writing down every expense I make each month. Honestly, it wasn’t easy when I first started, but as time went on and I remained consistent, I began to realize, “I should have started this earlier.” Starting this year has been really helpful for me. It has helped me achieve some things, understand my spending better, and manage my business finances more effectively. One thing that also helped me was that I didn’t use just one bank account. I use more than one account, so whenever money comes into one account, I save a portion of it in another account. The truth is, saving requires discipline, and if you find it difficult to save on your own, you can make use of daily contribution schemes or thrift savings. Personally, I don’t do thrift contributions. Instead, I use a bank savings app where I regularly put money aside. This has helped me stay disciplined and avoid spending all the money that comes into my business.
