We don’t need mothers to watch this….the target audience should be the men in leadership.

Women have to decide between a being present mother for the first few years or having a potentially permanent setback in their career which could affect the rest of their lives. It’s not political. It’s just reality.

Work like you don’t have a child and mother like you don’t have a job. That’s the expectation now.

My friend who is a sahm constantly talks about not being able to find a job again when she is ready, loss of income, not contributing to ss or retirement. I work full time and cry at lunch because I miss my baby so much and tell her to take her time at home for as long as she needs. You can’t win here 😞

Sorry, I’m priced out of modern motherhood. I’m a teacher. I’m a lot of mom’s support system and some moms really hate us. I wish they would hate the system instead.

I’ve been a SAHM, full time working mom and part time working mom. They lied to tell you you can “have it all”. You can’t. You will miss things.

The problem is if women marry and work full time, they are still doing double the house work and mental labor of the household (even when they make more). Men claim to do half the housework but when researchers actually broken it down task by task men were rating themselves much higher and that is why many women feel like they have to choose between their careers and family, and why men don’t feel the need to choose.

It’s all to keep us so discombobulated that we cannot pay attention to, or even have enough energy to deal with, systemic problems created by capitalism and misogyny.

My 9-month-old still gets up three times a night. I frequently have to go to work running on 3 hours of sleep. There's nothing wrong with my baby for getting up three times a night, he's an infant and that's what infants do. It's expected. What shouldn't be expected is for me to have to get up and work. Every day that I power through sleep deprivation, I have one thought: "This is inhumane". Women in the US deserve better maternity leave.

I hope they explore families with kids who have disabilities in this doc or the next. FMLA doesn’t protect people the way it should. Adequate daycare options are extremely limited. Flexibility is an absolute must and unfortunately parents are on the chopping block at work. There is a need for major reform in the workplace

It’s more than free or reduced childcare, it’s AFFORDABLE SAFE child care. Ppl that actually want to care for the children and keep them safe while parents are doing their duties. Which means they need to be paid appropriately.

Part time jobs should be as prevalent as full time, and not just lower paid industries. Imagine if 2 people could split an 8 hour day and be remote. That would fix many issues. Or all jobs go to school hours.

I have told my daughter to not have kids. I want her to live her life, travel, have her freedom. It’s too expensive for women to be Mother’s. Yes- I said it’s expensive FOR MOTHERS. Statistically, they carry the bulk of the parenting work

But women are guilt trip for not wanting to marry, have a baby or choose abortion. Women are left with the responsibility entirely of a human while men can do what they want.

I'm a single working mom. I objectively know I am not raising my child. His daycare provider and school is. He spends roughly 45 hrs a week at daycare and school. I get weekends, 30 minutes in the morning and 1-3 hrs in the evening depending on overtime availability. It's sad but it's the reality of parenthood for the many of us and that reality is why I won't have more children in the future. It's not great to have limited family time as far as development during the first 7 years and my work opportunities are limited until he's old enough to stay home independently so the likelihood of me being able to change that won't occur until he's already a teen.

This is Americas huge problem. Profit over humans. I’m 27 and I don’t have kids yet. I want to become a mom but I don’t want a child if I can’t afford it and I don’t have village. You have a kid but your job won’t pay a wage where you can afford daycare. Part time job? That doesn’t pay benefits. Plus why is housing, food & utility bills are over 10k a grand combined?? Then they wonder why no one is having kids.
