I put in one of my college research papers through an AI detector used by a *very big* university and it said 93% likely written by AI. I wrote it in 2013. I don’t trust AI detection software, ESPECIALLY because AI was literally trained on our writing.

it's also worth mentioning this is the third Black author to go through a public AI scandal based on flimsy evidence. authors shouldn't be using generative AI, but it's a growing concern that publishers can potentially ruin careers without irrefutable proof

I don’t think this story is true tbh. Alchemised had a seven figure deal as a technical debut but it already had an established fan base. We would know who this author is if this was actually happening.

i hate hate hate how if someone doesn’t like a book or if it’s a bit predictable then it’s suddenly labelled as ai. I’m so firmly against gen ai but do worry about the witch hunt that’s happening and the impact on new authors. also people putting work through ai generators to see if it’s flagged as ai is craaaazzzzyyy

Ok but what checks…. This week I tested 14 ai checkers in different platforms 13 of them said my own human writing was 100% AI and one 3 flagged the AI as ai written 🤦🏻‍♀️

I’m so confused about how people are using AI to write books… are they putting in prompts and then just copy and pasting? Or are they using it for plot and flow, etc?
