Not just that, but after the liberation of the concentration camps, the prisoners with the pink triangle didn't get released, the 'liberators' kept them imprisoned, because to them being gay or trans was also reprehensible and against their laws.

It cannot be stated enough that the *first* major book burning was of the institute of sexology's library of literature on gay and transgender healthcare. In happier history, it was recently discovered that the first woman to undergo sex reassignment surgery survived the holocaust and lived to old age.
