@conqueringthesky: Flight anxiety often becomes more intense with age, and the real reason behind it surprises most nervous flyers. 🛫 #VirtualAiPilot #FearOfFlying #FlightAnxiety #CalmFlying #TravelAnxiety Many people who used to fly without a second thought find that their fear of flying starts to appear or intensify later in life, often without any specific event triggering it. It can feel confusing and even discouraging, as if something has changed for the worse without explanation. But there is a psychological and physiological pattern behind why flight anxiety tends to grow with age, and it has very little to do with the aircraft itself. In this video we explore what is actually happening in your mind and body, why this shift is more common than you think, and how understanding it is the first step to changing your relationship with flying. I agree. I used to like flying but now I rather drive for three days then fly for one our. The downside is that I can't go to places and people that I would love to visit.

I had one bad experience flying with the WORLD turbulence and I couldn’t fly after that. I am trying my best to overcome the fear

Such an honest explanation. I don't just fear flying; even stepping out of my gate or coming home late is so concerning for me. Yet, at my young age, I was the darling of parties and night outs.

So true! I have flown about 200 times without fear but now I am having almost panic attacks when turbulence hits. I also hate people carrying oversized heavy suitcases ( as if they will bring the plane down). My fear doesn’t stop me from flying, but I do suffer😳.

My kiddo is 11. He’s obsessed with planes. He has talked me through every ounce of fear and made me realize turbulence isn’t scary. He is my hero.

I went through severe turbulence, canceled take off halfway through the runway and cancelled landing has we touched down do to a plane still at the end of the runway. All that during my 20’s. So I had fear of flying for years until I got old and now I can sleep through anything, I’m like I’m ready to meet Jesus.

So hypervigilance is a psychological and physiological symptom of trauma and/or PTSD, not a normal baseline milestone of the aging process.
