Cops all across the US should require a 4 year bachelors in criminal justice and 4 years of on the job training before becoming full officers. Increase their base pay to $100k and remove qualified immunity. Better trained cops means less probability of excessive force lawsuits and lawsuits stemming from incompetence.

This was me once, except only 1 squad. 3 kids in the mini van, screaming at the top of their lungs, little mermaid blasting from the dvd player and all I could think of was the positive pregnancy test from that morning. Zero clue I had led the cop on a chase for a mile. 😂🏳️

So apparently, from what I heard, she was originally pulled over because the officer said she made an improper lane change and then they noticed that the tag was coming back with some kind of discrepancy in the system. Nothing major at first. But then when they started asking questions, there was some confusion about whether the vehicle was registered to her, whether it had recently been transferred, and whether the information in the system had been updated yet. Then apparently the description of the vehicle was similar to one they had been looking for earlier in connection with another call, so the officer called it in just to verify everything. Somewhere in the middle of all of that, another unit came because they weren’t sure whether the information they were getting back was accurate, and then once one additional officer shows up, somehow three more are never far behind. From what I understand, she was also reaching around inside the vehicle looking for her registration and insurance information, which apparently made the officers more cautious because they couldn’t immediately see what she was reaching for. So they had her keep her hands visible while they figured out what was going on, and at that point they treated it like a higher-risk stop until they could confirm there wasn’t actually a threat. Then they had to verify her license, verify the registration, figure out why the tag information wasn’t matching correctly, confirm that she wasn’t the person they were actually looking for, and apparently there was some issue with dispatch communicating all of that back to the officers on scene. So basically, what started as a traffic stop somehow turned into multiple police cars, officers with guns drawn, everybody yelling instructions, and this woman sitting there probably wondering how an improper lane change turned into an episode of Law & Order. None of that is confirmed, obviously. I’m just demonstrating how easily somebody on the internet can create an extremely detailed explanation that sounds completely believable when none of us actually know what happened. 😂
