@scott.austin.martin: A lot of men don't realize they're starving. Not for success. For brotherhood. We build lives full of work, responsibilities, and people — and we quietly carry everything alone. We don't call another man when we're struggling. We isolate. We perform. We pretend we're fine. And over time, that isolation rewires our nervous system into believing we're on our own. Human beings are inherently social creatures. We need load-bearing walls in our lives — so our significant other doesn't become the only one. It is really healthy to have three, five, or ten men in your life who will tell you when you're full of it. It keeps you out of the brown helmet reflection of your own BS. Brotherhood is not a luxury. It is medicine. You are not broken. You are patterned. And patterns can be rewritten. Love your stuff. I’m a therapist and just thought…Have you considered starting a podcast? For the men who are NOT on social media???!! There is a massive group of men who are not chronically scrolling who could absolutely benefit hearing your stuff, especially about conflict and connection.

they are, and anyone with integrity and higher morals has a horrible time trying to find OTHER men who support the same morals.

I agree. Men need a healthy space for connection, friendships provide a conduit for this. At the same time, not all men withdraw or go silent in times of difficulty. I was married for 24 years, my ex husband made it a point to not unburden his work stress onto me. He carried it alone, even though we shared some insights and reflection. By contrast, my current partner likes to vent constantly (and without checking if I have the capacity to hold it) and it's so overwhelming. I listen and empathise and have expressed to him that often I am not in the headspace to take on more, but he doesn't see my pov. I don't want to hold the emotional puke bucket, I have 3 children and I carry enough emotional strain. So yes men, cultivate healthy relationships and ways to manage your stress that don't involve your partner. It really makes her shut down and lose attraction to you. This is my lived experience, y'all can disagree and have your own.
