I had everything paid off, zero debt, went to buy a pickup and they told me I don’t have bad credit but I have no credit and I guess that’s worse lol

I can’t make enough to buy food. I have 40.00 a week for a food budget. Beans, rice, potatoes, cabbage for two years now. That 40.00 includes toilet paper and necessities. No money to put back, no car payment. Driving a 1999 Chevy with no air conditioning in Texas. So Dave how in the hell do you put back 770.00????

But Dave how can I be cool in my corvette at 70 when everyone else that would be my age would have one. But Dave what if you had a corvette in your 20s? I would rather be happy while I’m young and able to enjoy life than have money when I’m 70 and can no longer do the things I love

3 more car payments, student loans paid, haven't had a credit card for over 20 years, had no medical until cancer hit me 3 years ago and now have 50k that I am paying on, my only other bills are rent (includes electric, wifi, trash and water) cell phone, car insurance and a storage unit that I am slowly going thru and selling things I no longer need. Work a 40 hour a week job, and a part time catering job that is about 30 hours a month. Every extra cent goes towards medical right now. I have a 401k, IRA and money market that I have set up a certain amount direct deposited every paycheck so I never see it. I budget every penny and if I get a little over time it goes into my savings/fun money account which I use mostly for craft supplies that I will occasionally sell (most are gifts) I am hoping to retire in a year and half at 62. I live very frugally and think about every purchase, is it a need or a want. Saved all my change and $1 bills for year to buy my Harley and had $3800 as down payment on it, paid extra every month and paid a 5 year loan off in 2 years. It is 19 years old and still running like the day I got her.
