I heard there’s a post partum group through Kaiser, it’s online you must attend to get extended you should ask about that

So I was extended 4 months and I could have gone longer. What I did was decide to say yes to an outside physiatrist. You might have to pay for the letter 30-50 bucks but you can def get that.

Pleaseee girl go see a chiropractor! They will extend you when you need it. I have epidural due to almost having a c section and during pregnancy I had bad sciatica pain and even after birth I still had it

I’m off right now through Kaiser as well in CA, well actually I’m 9 weeks postpartum so I am now seeing an outside doctor who extended me until October . You have PFL you can do right after you disability ends if you are on SDI if you can’t find someone , that’s for 8 weeks .

As a therapist that works with Kaiser, Kaiser is the worst for mental health and now with this. My OB just asked me this morning when I want to return back to work and I said around the holidays. She easily wrote me off until mid November no questions asked (although I have a NICU baby so I’m not sure how lenient she would be if I had a typical birth and postpartum experience). But if you’re open to medication management, you can seek out psychiatric care who can also write a letter to extend your disability

I have kaiser and the only way to extend you’re maternity leave is to go through the psychiatrist and the psychiatrist can only extend you for about 6 weeks but the only way they will extend you for that long is if you go through intense therapy which is a postpartum group therapy for moms. And they extend you for tops 8 weeks on top of what the psychiatrist extended you

Kaiser is honestly awful, heard nothing but bad things about getting extensions. I’ve been on leave since January and just got another extension, haven’t even started baby bonding yet. Get a new doctor!!

Girl seek for your own therapist that you have to pay out of pocket. I did that and I’ve been off for 7 months. You can be off for almost a whole year. Just remember that you can lose job protection. These doctors do not care!

Kaiser is literally the worst. They make it impossible when it involves anything paperwork. I’ve been trying my whole pregnancy to get the temporary disability permit especially since I have the pelvic symphysis dysfunction and walking literally makes the pain worse and all the different OBGYNs I’ve seen each visit deny me😭 and say we need you walking, walking will help you, and you won’t be pregnant forever. Superrrrr dismissive and invalidating 😤

Try going through allied health solutions I had to go through them. I work for Kaiser and yes they’re so hard to extend you even after speaking with a psychiatrist they would only give me 4 more days. Ended going through allied which got me 2 more months and could extend again if I needed to

I have Kaiser have had 3 csections have had my leave extended for all 3 with the latest being a year ago by the same OB for mental health. Not sure why they couldn’t do it.
