So basically, pick you color pallet and to get your highlights and shadows you pick wtv colors you want but the highlight base Color has to be lighter in value than the shadow base, then you pick a color to mix into the highlights, shadows, and starting colors to get a mid tone color + to have a harmonious color/tone to all the colors??

I don’t paint very often but what I’ve learned from you and other videos I’ve seen is that adding white isn’t always the clear choice when you want to brighten a shade.

How do you keep your mixing so contained? I end up chasing my paint all over my palette. I think I’m using my palette knife incorrectly because I’m getting spreading not mixing. 😭
