The clutch is your friend for most things slow. Set the revs to say 2k rpm and slowly ease the clutch out, similar to what you’re doing. It’s a wet clutch on the s1000rr so don’t worry about burning it out but within reason. For things like u turns and stuff set the revs even higher (3k) and just use the clutch to control power engagement. Higher revs, complemented with good road positioning, are your friend at higher speeds as well, I’m always switching between second and third gear on my country road commute to work and hardly touch the brakes apart from 2 or 3 corners, and if it’s a left hander I’m sitting to the right of the lane and if it’s a right hander I’m sitting to the left of the lane, higher gears are for the dual carriageway. Attend a Bike Safe course run by the police and you will learn so much that your instructors didn’t teach you

For bikes this powerful you really don’t need to give any gas till you get going, what I like to do is just go to a parking lot and without even touching the gas just use clutch feathering and you can ride around with only the clutch, ride safe

Don’t need any throttle at slow speeds there’s more then enough power in the bike for it to move on its own without touching the throttle you could take off without using the throttle at all if you leave the clutch out to the bite point and let it start rolling and slowly leave it out fully and the bike will just roll on its own and sit at the one speed

Little bit of advice mate. I’m not here to be critical. You look a little stiff like you are gripping for dear life. Loosen up a little and perhaps use two fingers on the brake/clutch rather than all four. I’d also said look where you want to go. You appear to be looking down in front of you. You are going to get more confidence at some point and increase your speed where possible and may end up getting it wrong. Safe travels
