I took a step back from TikTok content creation. Back in 2024, I started posting pregnancy content... It started off as a wholesome way to capture my experience and meet other new parents going through similar things... The TikTok parenting community is HUGE by the way! I noticed that we all felt similar levels of fear and excitement around becoming a parent... We were leaning into the biggest transition of our lives. But we weren’t willing to settle for the physical, emotional and financial debt that comes with early parenthood... And so like others, I worked with brands and created content with only a few thousand followers to my name... I started to gain traction, my posts were going viral and brands were getting in touch with me. 😳 But in truth, I stopped enjoying it. It became more about views and less about the message I was sharing... Pregnancy was HARD Labour was HARD Postpartum? Dare I say it... Everything shifted when I had Baby Squish and if anything, I had WAY MORE to say on the topic than ever before... I just didn’t want to focus my attention on hooks or polishing everything into a 30 second clip. I wanted conversation. Connection. Meaning. And so I stopped posting. I stepped back. I pivoted. And I built Baby Steps. A space for new parents to figure it out together. To speak on matters that deserve way more airtime than a quick 30 secs. I’m not here to tell you how to parent.
