Why the hell would you put the handle to the opposite side of the pipe where it’s harder to reach? And as for the original ball valve, the only thing I saw wrong with it was when you took the saw and cut into it for no reason whatsoever. If the valve that is, there is not leaking, that type of valve can be repaired without removing it from the pipe.
