@mariaaudhd: Did anyone else do this?? As a late diagnosed autistic adult, I finally understand why I couldn't just highlight "the important parts" like everyone else — I'd highlight the entire page because to my brain, everything felt equally important. This is such a common autistic and ADHD trait — our brains don't automatically rank information by importance the way neurotypical brains do, so "just pick what matters" is genuinely a harder task for us. If you're actually autistic or audhd and did this too, I need to know I wasn't alone in this. 😅 #autism #audhd #adhd #neurodivergent #fyp
and when the teachers showed powerpoint presentations i would copy the whole text on the screen and panic when i missed some of it because i wasnt fast enough

I would eventually stop highlighting or taking notes. It was so frustrating because I couldn't understand how I was supposed to decide. Then I ended up being too focused on being frustrated And I missed the whole lesson. This is why I always felt so lost in school.

when they said jot down notes during a test, but i couldn't decide what was important so I either never did and just remembered it all, or wrote down the whole thing 😂

And then when i decide to actually do what they said and highlight the important parts, i highlight the wrong things and everything on the test is the things i didn't highlight or study at all 😭 My interpretation of important is weird

Omg is this a common thing in autism? I was NEVER able to make summaries to study bc smh i always put useless information and left the most important information, so i ended up studying every single information in the book

Is this autism? I did this in college. Whoever bought my text books would have just gotten a text book that 90% of the page was highlighted.
