@mattgottesman: Was it really a loss or just alignment? One of the hardest lessons I've had to learn is that alignment doesn't always feel peaceful in the beginning. Sometimes it feels like loss. You pray for clarity… you ask God to align your life… and then suddenly something gets removed… a relationship changes, a door closes, an opportunity disappears. Something you thought was secure no longer fits. At first, it's easy to think you've taken a step backward. I've learned that's not always what's happening. More often than not, God is creating space… space for greater peace, deeper trust or for the people, opportunities, provision and experiences that actually belong in your life. The difficult part is that our human nature tends to focus on what's leaving instead of what that space is preparing us to receive. Looking back, some of the greatest blessings in my life were preceded by seasons where something had to be released first. God wasn’t taking something from me, but instead, making room for something I couldn't receive while my hands were still full.
