It’s like when one MLM goes out of business, the top huns scramble to the next one. They need to walk the fine line between dismissing their old company (to keep their customer base) and disparaging it (and risk alienating their previous downline). They all want their downline to sign up with them again and keep them at the top of the pyramid.

I somehow became a trad wife for a while. Initially my husband moved into a house I owned by myself! I sold it all by myself to in my 20s. I was a financial advisor. It was a 50/50 relationship. Then we moved to the US for his work and my visa kept me from working. I built a beautiful home and made friends and started working on my business for when we became citizens. Right before I had the opportunity to become a citizen he filed for divorce before he got a massive raise. 15 years together. He could have at least let me stay in the country where I had built my life. It was the most at home I ever felt after an abusive childhood. He knew that. I NEVER in a million years thought he would do what he did. People thought we were the perfect couple because he was so nice to me and we did so many cool things together and we’re attached at the hip. Like 7 years later I am still in shock it happened. So I was deported as my dad and grandma died during the pandemic. Thankfully, he was became extremely wealthy so I got alimony but being tied to that alimony doesn’t feel good. If I could have refused it I would have but he left me in such a bad position and I became so so sick (exacerbated by what he did and then subsequently being homeless for so long and all the death) thankfully because of the alimony I could pay for Airbnbs etc but I wasn’t even on the lease and I couldn’t get a reference to rent and I always owned my homes before that. I had to live in motels until i built my credit back up after he kept me from having credit cards and saved and bought a home. But the psychological damage has been immeasurable. I’ll never trust anyone again because if someone who you slept next to for 15 years and called you their best friend a month before filing for divorce could do what he did to me that is terrifying.

I’m curious as to how do you think this relates to politics? I feel like many people thought that after Trump won in 2024 that the culture was going to spring back towards conservatism, and therefore more women would gravitate towards this content. Instead, that’s not really what happened and the swing away from it has happened more swiftly than I think originally predicted. I feel like women like Nara Smith and the Ballerina Farms people are reacting to this and trying to shift their image, especially since being associated with this particular political climate is proving to be so toxic.
