I’m a former dancer, current therapist. I used to work at a DV shelter in a liberal town located in Appalachia. I’d love to brainstorm with you. I also would be willing to link you to my former coworkers and boss. I highly encourage you to create your own organization because you have a platform that could truly make a difference. Thank you for doing this work.

I love your heart. I had no idea you did this work too! Thank you for educating me this was an option to help others. Perhaps something like the at home kit? Or maybe a program that helps with transportation?

First; you're an amazing human being! And second; how did you get into being a SA respond team advocate? This sounds like something I'd love to look into. 🥰

getting a free transport service for victims run by women or survivors would be great, I wonder if there's a way to do this as a home service, maybe use a decommissioned ambulance and some nurses to bring the kit and resources to them?

I think the first step is having a way to identify areas with restrictive access.

Open a charity! I’m in the UK and sounds the same we need women like you in this world to be with women at this point of call! It makes such a difference to them moving forward with prosecution. You can get funding to open a charity and you are in such a good post with your following. WE ALL CARE and will help!!!

I had to have a kit done when I was 11 it was so traumatic on top of the assault I couldn’t shower I was in pain and sore and so freaking scared. And I had to be driven 45 minutes away to the next town to get the test. And police officer was outside of the room where I was a minor.

Unfortunately a lot of S.A. victims on reservations don’t seek any help medical or otherwise due to lack of information or resources available. So many indigenous women & men just don’t know what or where to go.

We need more funding for community outreach programs. People either from or who can go into these communities and build relationships and trust to bring resources and connect access on the ground

You have a passion for this. I would encourage you to dig deeper into things you can do in this area later in life, when your dance career slows down. Education, training, classes and advocacy might be a power career move down the road. Love you so much… you’re a gem. 💜💎

I work in a rural ER and we have to transfer patients that need these exams to our larger facilities in the city. It’s really hard and stressful for them on top of what they are already going through
