Parasites live inside each barnacle. It’s like having ticks removed. It’s better to remove it to heal than allow a parasite to continue to compromise the immune system & micro circulation of the sea turtles shell 🐢

Poor baby. 😞..... and yes, they can feel touch, pressure, and pain on its shell because the shell is a living part of its skeleton packed with nerve endings.

Bet she feels so much better with out yhose leaches on her!! These sre the worst so far they are so large and huge clumps of them. I don't think Harlow had them like that.
