@thegentlebarn: Paying tribute to our sweet Hiroka this #DisabilityPrideMonth 🐴 Hiroka was rescued from a backyard butcher, where she lived in misery. She came to us malnourished and weak, with deep wounds on her legs and cancer in her eyes from being left outside in the direct sun all day without a fly mask to protect her. We gave Hiroka the time she needed to heal and supported her with great veterinary care, antibiotics, and provided her with the nutrients her body needed. After her own healing, Hiroka became a healer herself. She had a special gift of connecting with guests and formed deep bonds with those who were in our equine therapy program. Despite losing her eye to cancer and most of her eyesight, she never lost sight for the beauty of life or the hearts of the people who came to visit her. Hiroka had a passion for life despite all she had been through. Her story of strength, love, and resilience will forever stay in our hearts.
