Salladin when he got destroyed by Richard & Baldwin. Salladin didnt outmanuever Richard, Richard army dissolved after he instead of marching on Jerusalem, planned to march on Egypt. Egypt was the best strategical option, as it was undefend at the time, as Salladin troops were defeated. However the crusaders didnt listen to him, cause majority of Richard army were not English troops but also French & Knights from all of Europe. the Ayyubid Sultan, operated with a twice to three times larger army than the Crusaders, while the Crusaders had to defend a large, stretched territories with a couple of thousand knights. the entire population of the Kingdom of Jerusalem was 200k compared to 5 million of the Ayyubid sultanate, there is nothing impressive in him sooner or later defeating the Crusaders. Hattin indeed was a masterpiece, however he still outnumbered the Crusaders 2:1 and had a better strategical posistion from the beggining
