all the mess from the oil pan, it pulls out and stays in some places where it shouldn't be. I'd rather change it the classic way where it's correct from the manufacturer

100% works. I used to do it the heating oil tanks. 270 gallons. We would do it the replace the valve on the bottom of the tank. Been doing it for 30 years.

Walmart techs I knew did this till it ruined the vacuums. there is a reason the guy uses a special oil trap on the top.
