This is an interesting take. The intent of riilu wasnt an orientalist one, but i believe that intent shouldn’t be the discussion here, but rather to be sensitive on how some elements are interpreted. I spoke with Riilu regarding the concern, and she admitted she would be changing her design a bit. I made a video on orientalism as well, in case anyone’s interested. I’m hoping people can evolve from this issue.

I wish people could just draw dude. Like some rules need to be set for sure. Like no AI, no tracing, no theft. For sure but like let’s keep it simple. Going too deep into these stuff truly makes no sense. Sometimes we draw things that we think are pretty, or we just want to tell something. Or maybe, just maybe, because we have the ability to draw random stuff , and there’s nothing wrong with that.
