outer wilds. it is one of the greatest games ever made. it is an exploration game with no combat, only puzzles and storytelling. if you are interested, do not go looking for more information, its one of those things you can only experience for the first time once.

Not sure if this counts but have you heard of The Forgotten City? It was originally a mod of Skyrim so it’s very small and same mechanics. But you’re in a city and the day keeps repeating and you’re trying to figure out how to stop it.

fire emblem 3 houses. it's relatively short and plays as a strategy game, but it hits every aspect u said u wanted. choices matter, grinding is optional, difficulty is beginner friendly, combat is engaging, romances and in game friendships are very rewarding, story is brilliant, and there r multiple endings so u can play more than once

Pentiment is a really interesting game and it was developed by Josh Sawyer who also worked on fallout nv. It came out 1 or 2 years ago.

I think a great game that fits that description is “Hades”. The second game just came out and I got the first game one sale for around 20. It’s a rougelike so the main portion of the game is combat but the controls I think are easy enough to get used to. Plus there’s a ton of different customization for your stats and weapons so you can find your best play style. The art style is beautiful with amazing character designs and backgrounds and is based off Greek mythology. The story takes place in the underworld and you play as hades son and he’s trying to escape the underworld to be in Olympus(or so we think). You can form relationships on the way and your main companions are the other Greek gods like Zeus and Poseidon. Overall amazing story with great dialogue and voice acting. And if you enjoy that then lucky for you there’re a second game.

Ni No Kuni….i hate fighting and played this game all the way through. And Miyazaki/Studio Ghibili does the animation and it is so beautiful

if u use all the tools available in botw its so easy. a lot of the fights are optional and if you really suck at fighting just stasis enemies and then bomb tf out of them😭

May I suggest “I Was A Teenage Exocolonist”. A visual novel mixed with open some slight open world elements, choices legitimately matter, multiple endings, instead of combat you have card challenges, and trust me when I say you want to do at least 2 play thrus. Games is $25 without tax, one of my favorite games of all time. Bonus points for beautiful art and soundtrack.
