Selfish people ruin everything. I still wear a mask to not get covid today. I have fibromyalgia and really don't want long covid.

I worked in Healthcare during the outbreak. They would complain about mandatory testing from their employers. Not masking or believing it was real at all, but then demanding to be seen immediately when they got sick. Complained about having to wait in their cars (because a waiting room was a cesspool) Watching the people around me who's only goal sincerely was helping people be treated like absolute garbage broke me. I understand your rage.

I was perfectly healthy and then I got covid once (was super sick for a week with it but luckily not bad enough to end up in the hospital). I now have multiple chronic illnesses that have all but caused me to be bedridden most days (its truly a ridiculous laundry list of diagnoses in my medical charts). That was 6 years ago and I'm only 31yr. It completely ruined my life. I can't take my kids on bike rides and walks or even handle being in the heat anymore, it's a struggle to clean my house, cook food, work full time (I was a Preschool Teacher and had to leave the classroom), and just so many other thing that should be easy are hard to do. I have to see 5 specialists and take so many prescriptions just to be able to function everyday. Point being, covid sucks and is no joke. 😐

They expect doctors and scientists to immediately know how to deal with anything. That’s not how medicine works.

Living next door to the US made me so mad since the start of COVID. One thing that really pissed me off was at one point the Canadian And BC gov agreed to allow Americans to use our highways to travel between Washington state and Alaska if they did not detour anywhere. There were multiple instances of Americans detouring including making it over to Vancouver Island which is only accessible by ferry if you’re driving.

Tell him it’s for white supremacy and they will be all masks all the time. Cuz its fine when its racist rhetoric and crap like that, is enough reason to mask up with no complaints. But when it comes to your health and the health of the public, thats some how the biggest thing to dig your heels in for?! Make it make sense!

Australian here, it was awful and inconvenient but we received cash incentives to stay home and support business. We complied, some under protest but yes, we had a speedy vaccine rollout and it worked.

I mask to this day. I’ve had every vaccine. And why? Because I learned something (surprise!). I learned that I don’t get sick every 4 months and my asthma is under control, that being outside means my body isn’t trying to yeet itself to the afterlife every 4 months! And I didn’t before because I didn’t think that was possible before the pandemic because it didn’t occur to me to try. Masks work. I now only have issues with cold in the winter, and that doesn’t take me out as bad as it did.

does anyone know a way to wear masks without having the mask touch my nose & mouth? I have serious sensory issues about it & would love a solution. Thanks.
In Australia we almost got that, there were a lot of lockdowns & masking & such
unfortunately there were also super spreader events cuz people were being (censored swear words) so we do unfortunately still have it around but its less common.
I need to get my booster shot & buy some more masks

I worked retail during 2020, people would come in with the mask under their noses and I would tell them to pull it up, and you get “well you know how hard to breathe it is”, NO I don’t, my mom and son have asthma and they wear the mask all day with no problems!

As a kindergarten teacher I was use to getting sick every few months. I vaccinated and mask and boostered and have not had any kind of illness since 2019. Retired now and still mask in any closed environment with people like airplanes and concerts. I do it for myself and others who might be compromised. I enjoy being healthy.
