@boxofficehq: Before he was swinging through New York as Spider-Man, Tom Holland was performing on one of the world’s biggest stages! 🎭 This footage shows Holland during his time in ‘Billy Elliot the Musical’, his first professional acting role. After being discovered by choreographer Lynne Page at a dance festival, he spent nearly two years auditioning and training in ballet, tap, and gymnastics before joining the West End production in 2008. Although he’s best remembered for playing Billy, Holland actually made his professional stage debut as Michael, Billy Elliot’s best friend, before taking over the title role a few months later. He was just 12 years old when he made his West End debut and remained with the production until 2010.
