What’s debated: Some events like the global flood, Exodus numbers, or miracles can’t be verified by archaeology alone. Historians and archaeologists disagree on details and dating. The Bible is treated by scholars as both a religious text and a historical document - some parts are highly accurate, others are theological narrative. 3. THEOLOGICAL AUTHENTICITY: "Can it be trusted for faith?" This depends on worldview. - Jewish/Christian view: The Bible is "inerrant" or "inspired" - God worked through human authors so the message is true and without error in what it teaches about God and salvation. - Academic view: The Bible is an ancient collection of texts that reflect the faith, culture, and history of Israel and the early Church.
