in my rock paper scissors experience i’ve seen most people throw scissors first round due to the fact they say scissors last and most people dont have a decision set in stone yet

I think this held true a few seasons ago. Rock had a super high pick rate, paper became meta in the pro scene, but as the game progressed, and the winrate of Paper plays went up, Rock’s winrate/tierate went down. You see a lot more mindgames, counterplay, and counter-counterplay even in as low as the metal ranks. If you OTP Rock or Paper, that’ll probably get you out of Bronze, but beyond Gold/Plat you need to be prepared to Flex and read your opponent. It’s just a fact that you need to be prepared to get stuck in ELO hell if you aren’t willing to log some playtime on Scissors when the game calls for it.

You can’t generalize what people throw though, even if on average there’s a ~50% chance of them throwing rock on the first round, if you know that person you could know they usually pick paper first round. Rock paper scissors heavily relies on the individual person you’re against rather than broad statistics like this

Nah bro they tend to throw scissors because it’s easier to say a word and do the same action at the same time (i have tested this)
