Never thought I’d be making a post like this. Earlier this year, I started TRT because I had been dealing with a lot of issues for years. My testosterone had tested low multiple times, and despite staying active and working out regularly, I was constantly tired, irritable, and felt like I could use a nap by lunchtime. I could never seem to sleep well either. I’d be exhausted, go to bed, and still toss and turn all night. I’d feel hot, uncomfortable, and like I was awake half the night. I just assumed that was normal for me. I was hoping TRT would be the missing piece. And honestly, it helped a lot of things. My strength went through the roof. Recovery improved. My mental clarity got better. I felt better in a lot of ways. But one thing never changed: my sleep. Actually, one thing got noticeably worse. I started snoring. Badly. People who slept around me started complaining because my snoring had gotten so loud that it was keeping them awake. I had never really been a snorer before, so it got my attention. To be clear, TRT didn’t cause my sleep apnea. It just made it worse and brought it to the surface. And honestly, I’m glad it did, because it exposed something I probably would have suffered from for years, maybe even forever, without realizing what was going on. I talked to my doctor about it, and he recommended a sleep study. Sure enough… severe sleep apnea. I started using a CPAP almost two weeks ago, and the difference is already pretty crazy. I’m sleeping deeper. I’m waking up significantly less throughout the night. I feel more comfortable and relaxed when I sleep. And probably the biggest change of all: I’m not dragging through the day like I used to. Looking back, I had no idea I had sleep apnea. I always associated it with being overweight or something that happened to older people. I never really considered that it could be the reason I felt exhausted all the time. Since getting diagnosed, I’ve learned just how common sleep apnea is and how serious untreated sleep apnea can be. I’ve also dealt with high blood pressure for a long time, so I’m hoping that getting my sleep under control helps with that over time too. I’m still early in this journey, but if there’s one thing I’d tell someone who constantly feels exhausted, never feels rested after sleeping, snores heavily, wakes up throughout the night, or just knows something isn’t right with their sleep: Talk to your doctor. Ask about a sleep study. I spent years thinking being tired all the time was just something I had to live with. Turns out, there was a reason. And getting it checked out might just change your life, or even save it. #C#CPAPBaddiesS#SleepApneaC#CPAPLifeS#SleepTokSleepBetter
