Punisher and Jean were in the movie were in the movie wayyyyy too much to be considered cameos. Punisher was literally a side character with a lot of screen time and Jean grey was technically the main antagonist

A cameo is usually a brief appearance that doesn’t materially affect the story. Jean Grey, Hulk, and Punisher were definitely not cameos… they were main characters. Yelena had limited screen time, but she wasn’t just a cameo either. She helped Peter twice, and both moments were important to moving the plot forward.

Hot take… Yelena is the only one of these that is actually a “Cameo.” The rest are active participants in the plot of the story…. Yelena was just a “hey look who it is” appearance which is what a cameo is vs a supporting character.

People just be talking for the sake of it. A cameo is a brief appearance, just fans service, that would be tombstone, tarantula. Jean Grey, Hulk, Punisher are not cameos, they're characters that serve important roles in the story that advance the plot. Jean Grey was the antagonist most of the movie, and the Punisher was in a deuteragonist role. And without Yelena, spider-man would have taken longer to find out what was happening so technically she isn't even a cameo
