@morewayzden1: Was it really a ship or were we the sheep following the lies being told. This piece isn’t claiming to rewrite history. It’s inviting you to look at a familiar story from a different perspective. Notice how the ship also resembles a phallus. That symbolism asks whether slavery can be understood not only as a historical event, but as the beginning of a human journey into dependence, control, and identity. As the figures leave the ship, they become slaves in the story. Not just in chains, but in the ways we all experience domination throughout life. As children, many of us were controlled, yelled at, hit, silenced, or taught to obey before we understood who we were. We inherited languages, beliefs, and identities before we had the ability to choose them. Then we spend much of our lives trying to discover ourselves. This artwork doesn’t diminish the suffering of enslaved Africans. Instead, it asks whether the story of slavery also contains a universal lesson. If we recognize oppression in history, can we also recognize the ways we continue it today? Every time we humiliate, intimidate, or dehumanize another person, the cycle continues. Sometimes the most powerful stories aren’t the ones we memorize. They’re the ones that teach us to see ourselves. #TimeWillTell #AllOfUs #DigDeep #Consciousness #Reality
