* If your property achieves EPC C before the new system fully takes effect (currently up to 30 September 2029), that C-rated EPC remains valid for its normal 10-year life, even after the new rules come into force.
* If your property is still Band D, having a valid EPC until 2037 does not exempt you from the new minimum standard that is due to apply from 1 October 2030. The legal requirement is expected to override the remaining validity of a D-rated certificate.
