an easy way to do it is to tell them to stand with their arms to the side and put the crutches next to them. then make note of the peg their wrists fall at and adjust to there! (sincerely, a disabled person who has to refit his mobility aids every time he folds them up)

Everytime I've been on crutches, they are set 2 inches taller than they should be cause if my armpits are gonna hurt from using them, I might as well be able to stand up straight when moving around.

I’m 5’2 and some reason my crutches are set at 5’6 if I’m wearing flats and 5’8 if I’m in my boots… and I still have a 2-3” gap under my arms. I don’t get it either 🤣
