Why are some ppl in the comments acting like these are weird and absurd LOL.. except for the gum thing which I can still understand, the rest aren’t even weird. Entirely reasonable and logically to prohibit food and drinks in the metro, and what kind of uncivilised person stand in the wrong side of an escalator? The last 2 too, Singapore literally has enough bins around, and in what world is it surprising for napkins to not be provided in a community food place / food court??? Some of yalls countries literally charge an arm and a leg for just water & mind you TAP WATER, and the same goes for needing to pay to go to toilets in public LOL

as a singaporean, this is so funny bcos i didn’t know how essential gum is to non-singaporeans HAHAH. and yes we all have napkins in our bags bcos that’s also what we use to reserve seats here :-D not being able to drink in the train pisses me off too bcos WHAT IF I M COUGHING my lungs out and i need water? 😭

The ban on gum exists because of vandalism, extreme cleaning costs, and disruptions to public infrastructure. The government was spending $150k scraping gum. Vandals were sticking gum to sensitive electronics.
