It’s also important to remember the Baloch cameleers. Many Baloch families had moved from Balochistan to Kandahar and other nearby regions before migrating to Australia. They were among the earliest camel caravans that entered Australia and played a vital role in exploring and developing the Australian outback. Unfortunately, many of them were simply recorded under the general label “Afghans”, even though a significant number were ethnically Baloch. Their contribution deserves recognition too.

I had likewise met a younger lady in Australia who similarly appeared, acted and sounded completely "Australian". Her heritage came out purely coincidentally at lunch. Noticed she didn't eat or touch anything with pork in it. So we got talking and found out it's not because she is Muslim, Jewish or anything (something they'd lost generations ago) but because her family have always avoided pork products and it had stuck as a tradition since her great grandfather cameleer days.
