This may be a theory but I think hulk calmed down only because he saw the innocence in spideys eyes and hulk always holds back on the innocent which I concluded from the comic where he wouldn’t hold back in hell due to the fact there were no innocent so once he heard that scared little kid which might have reminded him of his past, or it could have been because he saw the vulnerability in Peter and well once hulk saw how Peter had no ill intentions he deemed him someone pure and when hulk saw his reflection he saw that raging monster hurting the people who he should’ve been protecting therefore he let go because he only saw harm if he continued to hold the pile of buildings
