n 1958, Iraq was going through one of the most important periods in its modern history. At the beginning of that year, Iraq was known as the Hashemite Kingdom of Iraq under the rule of King Faisal II, with Baghdad as its capital. Iraq had an important geographical position in the Middle East, bordered by Turkey to the north, Iran to the east, Syria and Jordan to the west, and Saudi Arabia and Kuwait to the south. The map of Iraq at that time showed several major provinces and regions such as Baghdad, Basra, Mosul, Kirkuk, Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, Amarah, and Diwaniyah. The Tigris and Euphrates rivers were also clearly visible on maps because they played a major role in agriculture, trade, and daily life. Politically, Iraq had strong relations with Western countries, especially Britain, and was considered one of the influential Arab states. However, on July 14, 1958, a military revolution led by Abdul Karim Qasim ended the monarchy and declared the Republic of Iraq. Because of this event, 1958 is considered a major turning point in Iraqi history. #طششونيي🔫🥺😹💞 #14_تموز_1958 #العراق #القومية_تنتصر #عبد_الكريم_قاسم
