Everyone in the comments saying Japanese don’t drink matcha lattes but when I was in Japan all the matcha shops were filled with Japanese people. Granted they were younger people so I think matcha is popular with the younger Japanese population 🤷🏻‍♀️

I guess I must have imagined the matcha latte I had at the uni cafe at Waseda University in Tokyo where the vast majority of students are Japanese when I was there 2018/2019 based on these comments. Like yeah traditionally matcha is served without milk but Japanese people don't only eat and drink stuff in the completely traditional versions 😭😭

Matcha lattes are not common in Japan. "The Matcha" is a decent chain but otherwise the gamble is high. Many use "matcha latte powders" that already have milk and sugar mixed into them. they don't taste good and the color is all wrong. I just make mine at home most of the time 😭 For example this brand (image) has great powders but their matcha latte blend is not great.
